One of the great advantages of a chauffeur driven tour of London is that you can explore hidden parts of the city that most tourists never get to see.

A Facebook group called Secret London could be a good starting point for those people wishing to discover hidden city gems to visit on their chauffeur driven tours. Many group members are local to London, and have the required knowledge to recommend places that most guide books know nothing about.

Afternoon tea

This is one of England’s finest traditions, and the Secret London group is bursting with recommendations of wonderful afternoon tea places. Bea’s of Bloomsbury comes highly recommended, as does Allans, an organic patisserie boulangerie near Oxford Street.

Bookshops

London is famous for its range of specialist and second hand bookshops. Some of the bookshops most frequently recommended by local Londoners include Walden Books, near Camden Lock, Pordes on Charing Cross Road and Copperfields in Wimbledon (ideal if your chauffeur driven London tour happens to co-incide with the tennis!)

Pubs – with open fires!

The pub is another grand English tradition, and nothing is more quintessentially English than a pub with a big roaring open fire. Ask your chauffeur to drive you to the Cheshire Cheese near Fleet Street or the Builders Arms behind King Street. You won’t need to worry about driving home either!
